Is there a form for me to fill out?

Yes there is! This simple form allows us to identify who owns the piece(s) that were sent to us. Without knowing who sent the item in, we will not begin any repairs until contact has been made. The form only has a few lines to be filled in and includes a ship-to address label that can be placed on the outer side of your box.

What if I received my binos damaged?

We would love to hand deliver your binoculars, but we must rely on the postal service. Not very often, but sometimes there is a mishap in the shipping process. If you receive your binoculars after being repaired and they are out of collimation, we will gladly make that repair again at no cost (this does not cover shipping costs to send the item to us). If you have a concern about your binocular after repairs have been done, please contact us.

What brands do you service?

Military - All makes, all models. Current and old.

Made in Japan, China, Russia, Germany, France, UK.

Commercial and consumer - R.E.I., Cabela's, Gander Mtn., Bass Pro, Swift, Celestron, Meade, Pentax, Minolta, Fujinon, Optolyth, Leitz, Leica, Nikon, Swarovski, Sans & Streiffe, Bell & Howell, Bausch & Lomb, Bushnell and more.

S.O.R. now offers repair services for Carl Zeiss, Carl Zeiss Jena and Swarovski Habicht. The optical technician in Austria no longer services Habicht binoculars made prior to 1984.

How do I start the repair process?

This starts when you contact us. We go over any problems with your glass and will typically give a quote based on the issues, description and model.

Package your binoculars (shipping tips listed below) and be sure to include your contact info, price quote and issues with the glass before shipping.

How long does it take?

All repairs are done in the order in which they were received. We will gladly inform you of any backlog issues on our end.

Can you get rid of fungus issues?

We have a very high success rate at eliminating fungus.

Can you re-skin my glass?

Absolutely. We regularly perform re-skinning every month. Our Gallery includes some re-skinning jobs we have done.

Why do you use a Mark V collimator?

Unlike the Fujinon UBMM, the Mark V is not limited to a binocular's physical size. Any glass larger than 70mm will not fit in the UBMM.

Shipping tips.

If you include the case, be sure to add some packing inside, like newspaper, so that your glass will not bounce around freely in the case during shipping.

Use an over sized box and include plenty of bubble wrap or packing peanuts to protect you binocular. Never send in a Tyvek envelope or thin flat rate box.

I need a neck strap for my binocular.

No Problem. We make them out of leather in various colors.
